In this session, we’ll discuss MG & YA story beginnings that pull a reader in and create a compelling protagonist right from the start. We’ll also talk about common first page cliches and pitfalls to avoid.

So you’re looking for an agent and there’s so much information out there, you can’t make heads or tails. This talk will help you understand the world of agents and strategize how begin the process. What kinds of things should you be looking for as you prepare your query list? How should you make sense of agents’ wish lists and Twitter profiles? Is there such a thing as a dream agent? How do you figure out who the good agents are? More importantly, who will be a good agent for you?
