Lora Hyler carried her love of reading and writing into a radio news career as a reporter for NPR affiliate, WUWM and ABC affiliate, WISN, both in Milwaukee. She also worked for a media and an energy company managing writing, editing and strategic communications. In 2001, she founded her now 18-year-old public relations and marketing company, Hyler Communications.

She has written thousands of articles, several screenplays, short stories, and a novel for adults. Now, she’s excited to write middle grade children’s books. Lora has been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators since 2015. The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes is her first book in a contracted three-part series. The middle grade novel has received winner designation in the international Eric Hoffer Book Awards, and finalist recognition for book cover design. She is also a finalist in the Best Book Awards.

Lora landed a publisher after applying lessons learned from her corporate career to her quest to become a published author. She will share her journey, insights and writing process in this workshop.
